Pat Gillett's November Diary
Quest Baits Blog &bull Dec 8, 2011
Back to the Estate lake for another quick after work session. Got to the lake at about 2.30pm and actually saw a bit of fish activity (these fish very rarely show themselves at all). Had just about got the rods in when the heavens opened and it didn't stop chucking down until packing up time at 11.30pm. I never had so much as a bleep although there was continued carp activity throughout the evening. I came away unsure as whether the weather was to blame (in all the years I have been fishing I have never really caught many carp… Full Story »

Would I be right in thinking that if Greenfish's new CPR Mount had a spike attachment to shove into the ground, bank anglers could get as excited about it as their boating counterparts? I love the overall concept. If you're… Full Story »

Snapshots from an Angling Life #1:
North Country Angler &bull Nov 25, 2011
The gear is stowed and I'm ready to go. The little two piece rod is lashed to the frame of my 5-speed racer and my backpack contains my reel, hooks (big ones, size 6), a couple of ounces of Morrisons cheddar and little else. The homework will wait; a long summer's evening fishing awaits at the end of a 4 mile bike ride which will be spent almost entirely thinking about Carole Earp and how, in another life, I might pluck up the courage to ask her out. My destination is the lower River Brock - an uninspiring, artificially leveed,… Full Story »
